How do the Configuration Settings Impact the Reservations Widget?

Each configuration you tweak impact the reservations widget. Let us take a detailed look

Spont > Left Navigation Bar > Applications > Reservations > Settings

Follow the above-mentioned workflow to land on the Reservations configurations screen. Here, the configurations are segregated into Tables, Categories, and Settings.

In this article, we will take a detailed look into the Settings tab and its impact on the website widget.

To develop a better understanding, open the website widget in a new tab alongside the reservation configurations.

To configure settings, open the Settings tab.

Max Number of Slots

Select the maximum number of available slots from the Max Number of Slots field. This is reflected in the Guest dropdown of the website widget.


For instance, if you set the maximum number of slots to 5, the Guest dropdown in the website widget will display options up to 5.

Apart from the Max number of Slots, each configuration is also dependent on the selections made from the timeslot configurations. To know how that is done, click here.

Time Slot Size

The Time Slot Size dropdown lets you choose a timeslot size from pre-defined options. Spont has 3 existing options in this dropdown that include Default, Takeaway, and Delivery.


The open and close days and timings for each day of the restaurant defined from the timeslot configurations are reflected in the Time dropdown of your website widget. For instance, if you have set all days to open, the Date calendar on the website widget will allow you to select any date of the month for the reservation.


Similarly, if you have set the open and close timings from 0900 to 2300, the Time selector will allow you to choose any time from 9 AM to 11 PM (based on the time step).

BCC

The BCC field is where you can enter an email address for the reservation confirmation email. This keeps you updated whenever there is a new reservation or a change is made to an existing one.

Deposit

Use the Deposit field to enter a small amount to be paid while making a reservation. This is meant for the No-Shows so that the reservations where the guests will not show up are minimized.


The amount entered here is collected when a reservation is created from the website widget.

Time Step

The Time Step dropdown lets you select the time interval between the timeslots. For instance, if the timestep is set to 15, each available slot will appear in the Time dropdown of the website widget with a 15 minute difference from the previous one.

Show Table Number in Option

The Show Table Number in Option toggle button gives you an option if you want the available table number to appear next to the available timeslot on the website widget. By default, it is enabled. However, you can disable it to hide the table number being displayed on the website widget.
